I started as a developer, mainly working on internal applications and web development, and quickly progressed to Game Services Lead before having my time unexpectedly cut short by layoffs. In that role, I led a team of developers and worked with stakeholders at all levels in a company-wide effort to design, implement and maintain solutions that significantly improved the day-to-day development, testing and deployment of the company's three major titles. Besides leading and managing this multi-project effort, I contributed to other projects, including leading the development of game-specific scalable websites. Though my time at Other Ocean was short, I achieved a lot and always kept stakeholders engaged and up-to-date while ensuring timely delivery.
Helped create, deploy, and manage the Onset Assistant, a real-time streaming and communication hybrid application for film crews, from MVP to polished product used worldwide. As Head of Design, I handled all aspects of design for Onset Communication, from brand guidelines to UX and UI design work for the Onset Assistant. As a developer, I focused mostly on the front end of the Onset Assistant, working with Angular, SCSS, HTML, TypeScript and WebSockets. I often dipped into the backend where we worked with Express.js, Swagger, WebScokets, and TS. When I left the company in 2022, the Onset Assistant application features included: - Live streaming from any number of production cameras - Multi-camera recording with simultaneous playback - Independent channels where groups of users could view media and communicate - On-device camera still-frame capture - Full library of still frames, videos, device camera photos, and annotations I also designed, built and maintained the company's responsive website (onset.film). It uses JavaScript, Bootstrap, Gulp, and Lighthouse CI for usability testing.
